Canterbury Festival

Canterbury Festival is a two week extravaganza of the arts taking place from 19 October – 2 November 2019. Experience music, performance, talks, family events, science and more in the heart of Kent.

Canterbury’s annual celebration of the arts brings together a programme that is packed to the brim with global stars, emerging local talent and stunning live performances.

With venues including Canterbury Cathedral, The Marlowe Theatre, Kent College’s newly built Great Hall and the spectacular touring Salon Perdu Spiegeltent; Canterbury’s most ambitious Festival unifies the city’s cultural hubs and invites audiences of all ages and backgrounds to be inspired, delighted and stunned.

With a line-up that includes number one selling artists Jack Savoretti and Ward Thomas, two-time MOBO award winner Laura Mvula, classical Saxophonist Jess Gillam, the Havana sounds of Juan de Marcos’ Afro-Cuban All Stars, Paul Young’s Los Pacaminos and Hamish Stuart’s The 360 Band– Canterbury Festival is the place to be this autumn.

Visit the Salon Perdu Spiegeltent – a stunning travelling 1920s dance hall. It’s the perfect venue to experience live music, enjoy a half term treat and have an unforgettable night out with friends. Don’t miss comedian Javier Jarquin - AKA Card Ninja - who will be using decks of playing cards as weapons; Australia’s award-winning circus company Casus with Knee Deep – a show that pushes the boundaries of strength and fragility; and Le Gateau Chocolat and Jonny Woo, who will be dragging audiences through the back catalogue of fabulousness with A Night at the Musicals.
