NetPark and Metal Culture
In Southend-on-Sea, experience the world’s first digital art park, NetPark at Chalkwell.
Fifteen engaging and playful artworks and stories will take you on different journeys around the park that are in turn, surprising, funny, informative and thought-provoking.
The works are all GPS located and experienced through a smart device, either iPad, iPhone or Android.
The collection includes artworks created by artists and five site-specific stories created by Southend school pupils working with writers and illustrators.
Designed for everyone to enjoy, the range of these digital artworks ensures that there is something to enchant all ages and allows for a shared experience or individual contemplation.
NetPark is hosted by art organisation Metal Culture who also host a wide range of events, exhibitions and classes, including Village Green Festival and Estuary 2020, a festival in partnership with Cement Fields, celebrating 60 miles of coastline across this waterway are celebrated with art, music, literature and film.
