Brogdale Collections
Brogdale Collections is the home of the National Fruit Collection and works to provide access to and education about the National Fruit Collection. Set in over 150 acres of farmland, we have over 4000 varieties of fruit trees from apples, pears, quinces and plums to cherries. The Collections orchards are a living history and heritage of fruit.
Self-guided tours are available any time of the day or year. You can spend as much time as you like wandering the pathways, enjoying the countryside and discovering the fruits cycle from blossom to fruit harvest.
Guided tours run from April to October 3 times a day. Explore history, heritage and orchard delights on an escorted tour led by one of our experts who will guide you through the flavours of the collection with fruit tastings in season. They will answer any questions you have on the fruit, trees or the collection.
Our cream tea and tractor trailer tours run from July to October and are popular with groups and families.
Brogdale Collections also host a busy year of festivals and events. Starting with our Japanese celebration of blossom – Hanami Festival to first fruit of the season at Strawberry and Cherry Fair, followed by our famous Cider and Apple Festivals. These run alongside our popular children’s educational Beastie, Wild Weather and Wildlife Days.
Brogdale Collections also offer a range of one day rural courses and education including fruit tree grafting, pruning, wild food forging, cider making and orchard design.
